Our Mission
Our aim is to enhance the quality of our shared village environment in both Northaw and Cuffley by fostering community spirit and encouraging civic pride.
How do we achieve this?
We Campaign
to preserve our green belt for future generations.
We Liaise
and collaborate with organisations and groups who share our concerns.
We Oppose
those developments which threaten our already overstretched local infrastructure and services.
We Protect
and support residents who have concerns about planning, parking, policing, transport, and any other similar issues affecting life in the two villages.

I moved to Cuffley in 2021. I saw it as a great place to bring up our young family – in a green environment, whilst still having access to good transport links, major roads and several airports. Whilst we are very lucky to live here, there are always ways to make improvements and a key one for me from when I moved here has been the lack of safe places to cross Station Road (at both ends) and worryingly, the lack of urgency from Hertfordshire Highways and the local elected officials to enact change. With all the development on Sopers Road, there should now also be a safe crossing put in there to connect to the train station. This issue brought me to the Committee and if I’m in part successful for bringing in these changes, I’ll rewrite my bio!

I have lived in Cuffley for over 20 years and been a member of NCRA for most of that time and am now the Treasurer. I am interested in planning applications for our two villages and review them for the area on a weekly basis on behalf of NCRA. I am a Committee Member of the Patient Participation Group for Cuffley & Goffs Oak Medical Practice. I am also a volunteer at the 60 Plus luncheon club in Potters Bar and for Enfield & District Veteran Vehicle Trust at Whitewebbs Museum of Transport.

My children both grew up in Cuffley. Our family has been involved in local clubs, societies and voluntary groups over several decades. Through the work of the Residents Association I would like to help in supporting community activites in Northaw and Cuffley. Opportunities that bring people together can create bonds of friendship and a happier community.

David Cheesman
My family moved to Cuffley from London in 2004. Our three children attended Cuffley School and we all try and remain active in the local community. I am particularly interested in working with residents to improve local services and ensure that Northaw and Cuffley continues to be a lovely place to live.
Ian Hastings
I moved to Cuffley in 2021 having lived in Enfield for over 60 years. It’s so nice living near lots of green and pleasant open space, and so I’d like to help keep it that way with my particular interests being the environment and a clean and well maintained street scene. I’m still working part-time in the Transportation Planning industry and I’m very supportive of any road safety and public transport improvements, particularly in an area where there are very few alternatives to private car transport.
Bonnie Lythgoe
My home in Cuffley has been an adventure for many years, with my sons growing up enjoying the spirit, heart and fun of village life.My work in stage musicals, television and dance judging takes me all over the world, but wherever my career takes me, I never lose my love for my home and the community I’m proud to be part of.Cuffley has so much to offer, and while I understand that change is inevitable, I believe we should never forget why we chose to live here in the first place.Yes, I know far more about productions than I do about planning! But I do know that I care deeply about our community. I want Cuffley to remain a fabulous, welcoming and safe place for us all — and I believe we can make change work while protecting what makes our village special.I appeared on I’m a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! in Australia and have recently returned from Broadway, where I was producing a musical. But after all the excitement of my work around the world, sometimes all I really want is the peace, the green belt, and a good gin and tonic.

I have lived in Cuffley since the mid 90s and am very keen to support the Northaw and Cuffley Residents Association in protecting our very special environment and the green belt. I am also a Committee member of the Patient Participation Group for Cuffley and Goffs Oak Medical Practice.
Edward Plumbly
Resident of Herts for 40 years and of Northaw for 31. Retired after 45 years in investment banking, most of which was advising Nordic companies on equity finance.
